MANAGEMENT RESOURCES

PRIVATE FORESTS ARE VITAL TO CLEAN WATER

Crow Wing SWCD is focused on helping woodland owners actively manage their land and natural resources, keeping the land healthy for present and future generations, and increasing the benefits the land provides.

Forests on private lands are vital to clean water. Forests and well vegetated lands serve as a giant natural sponge, filtering and retaining water. The deep root system and vegetative base retains soil, soaks up water and filters contaminants. Woodlands protect both groundwater and surface water.

Below are resources for private woodland landowners.
